MAR Consulting AS had assisted on producing a reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) analysis of a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit to be stationed in the Norwegian continental shelf (see the previous article here). The initial model in the front-end engineering (FEED) phase had the objective of estimating the production efficiency of the current configuration, providing insight on bad actors and basis for modifications to improve the production efficiency.
Since then, the model was further developed to include further details during the design and detailed engineering phase. The objective is to provide a more accurate estimate of the reliability, availability and maintainability of the system.
