TQP new part of multiphase meter (MPM)

MAR Consulting developed a Technology Qualification Plan (TQP), according to DNV-RP-A203, for a new part of a multiphase meter (MPM). The plan shows that performance criteria and all risks identified during a Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) workshop have been addressed by choosing and applying suitable qualification methods. The outcome of related activities shows no degradation of the overall MPM metering performance but a successful measurement decoupling from downstream piping configurations, as intended.

Mini-HAZOP and LOPA – open drain offshore wind power substation

MAR Consulting facilitated a mini-HAZOP (hazard and operability) and a LOPA (layers of protection) analysis of an open drain system in an offshore wind substation platform. Since the platform is normally unmanned and due to environmental conditions in the region (South Korea), the Operator prefers to discharge the open drain inventory to sea. The discharge shall be processed to avoid potential contaminants (such as transformer oils, foam from active fire protection, etc) to sea. HAZID topside offshore wind substations in East Coast USA

Introduction MAR Consulting facilitated a hazard identification (HAZID) workshop of topsides of three (3) offshore wind substations (OSS) platforms. The methodology was based on the guidewords from DNV-ST-0145 with addition of other relevant topics such as work environment related hazards. The HAZID of offshore wind substations covered the topside during the operational phase only. FTA support for complex scenarios

MAR Consulting supported the Client in performing a fault tree analysis (FTA) for hazardous scenarios in an onshore chemical facility. The scenarios to be analysed were deemed too complex to be handled in a traditional layer of protection analysis (LOPA). LOPA cannot be used for scenarios with a multitude of initiating causes and different combinations of independent protection layers (IPL) for each cause. Fault trees are more flexible and can be used to model the probability of occurrence of such hazardous scenarios.

LOPA module integration FPSO

MAR Consulting was contracted to support with a layers of protection analysis (LOPA) of one module integration in a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel. The project may require additional barriers to protect the new equipment to be installed. These barriers can be, among other options, safety instrumented functions (SIF). LOPA is one method to allocate safety integrity levels (SIL) to SIFs if additional risk reduction is necessary. Scope of Work RAM study offshore wind substation

MAR Consulting prepared a scope of work and methodology report showing how a reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) shall be performed for an offshore substation engineering project. The offshore substations will be receiving power from wind turbine generators and transmitting it to shore. MAR Consulting will eventually support the engineering team to develop the RAM model and analysis, depending on project award to Client. MAR Consulting has extensive experience performing RAM analysis in a variety of projects and industries. SAFOP wellhead platform central North Sea

Introduction MAR Consulting facilitated a Safety and Operability (SAFOP) workshop of the electrical equipment in an offshore wellhead platform for an ultra-HPHT (high pressure high temperature) gas condensate field located in the Central North Sea. The online workshop was attended by discipline experts from engineering contractors and subcontractors as well as the asset operator. QA/QC RAM analysis turret and mooring FPSO

MAR Consulting provided quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) of a Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) analysis of a turret and mooring of a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. The system consisted of a single point mooring and submerged turret production (STP), based on technology developed by the client. The RAM analysis documented the methodology and results in terms of production efficiency for the turret and mooring system.
